Under construction. Maquettes are constructions of ideas created to work out design, scale and surface. From them a pattern is drawn for sculpture. The pattern is adjusted to each medium. Here you see works in ceramic, wood and steel. This and size determine pricing. Some works are one only and others are editions of no more than the international standard of seven plus two artist's proofs. Making a maquette offers the artist a way to work with ideas for sculpture without incurring great material cost. In this way the artist sorts out the size and colour which best expresses the motif. A range in size, surface and budget results. For instance small works for a tableau would be 12 to 15 inches high for your home or given as a special gift. Powdercoated larger works from 36 to 84 high installed outside inform in a natural setting suitable to your yard, garden, corporate installation or public art. Painted sculptures can be placed inside offering statement and presence to any interior. So if a work causes you to squeal it can be commissioned to suit a reasonable budget. Whether you are squealing or just curious please do inquire.
